Artist Statement

 

          “ Assemblage: SHIFTING BOUNDARIES”

 

 

                        

As boundaries shift throughout our lives we cast off many things no longer relevant to us.  Some of us sell these things and some preserve them.

 

The figurative assemblage exhibited here are, in part, created from what I have collected from five generations of my family and also from objects I have found.

 

It is interesting to note some of the objects I used to make the assemblage I found on the shores of the Atlantic, Pacific, Caribbean and the Adriatic.

 

I have no idea why I am attracted to a particular object or why I will carry it with me for 30 years.  It is probably the most intuitive thing I do.
